Gervonta Davis Hit-And-Run Charges Being Sent To Jury Trial In March 2022

Gervonta Davis could face more than seven years in prison if convicted for 14 counts of an incident that stems from November 2020.

Davis, a former WBA lightweight champion, was in court Monday in Baltimore on charges of a hit-and-run crash that injured four people, WJZ 13, a local news outlet reported. The 26-year-old is reportedly heading to a jury trial in March 2022.

The crash happened just days before the boxer won over Leo Santa Cruz in San Antonio. His most recent win was against Mario Barrios where he scored a TKO to win the WBA world super lightweight title, his secondary title.

He recently gave up his WBA 130-pound title, but still owns secondary belts at 135 and 140 pounds.

The undefeated fighter (25-0, 24 KOs) is expected to fight again before the end of the year, but it’s now unclear when he will return. Davis and Rolando Romero were in talks to fight in December.
