Gervonta Davis: I’m Richer Than Floyd Mayweather Jr. After New Deal

Gervonta Davis says he is richer than Floyd Mayweather Jr. following his latest deal.

Davis revealed he has a 6-7 fight deal, overtaking what Mayweather secured in 2013. Mayweather’s deal with Showtime was reportedly worth $200 million. Tank is currently preparing to box Frank Martin on June 15. He is coming off his biggest win, stopping Ryan Garcia last year. The fight sold over 1.2 million PPVs, while the gate was over $20 million, showing Davis’ star power. A win over Martin will continue Davis’ quest to be the face of boxing.

“I’m at the point where I passed him and I’m doing it at a young age. When Floyd Mayweather was 29 [he wasn’t doing it like me], you’ll see. That [6-7 fight] deal that I was talking about, that’s bigger than his [Mayweather’s six-fight] deal [that Floyd had with Showtime in 2013], and I’m just releasing it on here,” Davis said

The deal may see Davis face the biggest names. He could box Shakur Stevenson for the WBC Lightweight Title. He could also fight Vasiliy Lomachenko or George Kambosos Jr. The two will box on May 12 for the vacant IBF lightweight belt. There are also fights at 140. Bouts with Devin Haney (WBC belt) and Teofimo Lopez (WBO belt) offer Davis world title shots. There is also the chance to run things back with Ryan Garcia at 140, if King Ry clears his name following his failed VADA test for Ostarine. Fans may now see the biggest fights being made.
