Gervonta Davis In The Running To Headline PBC’s First Amazon Prime Video PPV Against Frank Martin

Gervonta Davis is in the running to headline PBC’s first PPV on Amazon Prime Video.

Reports indicate Davis could face Frank Martin on March 30, 2024. Davis’ last fight with Ryan Garcia sold over 1.2 million PPVs, making Amazon Prime Video the ideal platform to generate similar numbers. Their subscriber base in the US alone is over 160 million.

Martin is undefeated and has the chance to fight for a world title, having pulled out of talks for a fight with Shakur Stevenson for the then-vacant WBC Lightweight Belt. The belt was freed up after Haney moved to 140.

A fight seemed inevitable, but Stevenson blamed Martin for the bout not happening as he wanted a 50-50 split. Stevenson faced Edwin De Los Santos and won the belt. Now Martin could fight Davis for the WBA Belt after Tank was elevated from a Regular Champion once Haney vacated.

The fight is still not what boxing fans want after Turki Alalshikh’s desire to make Davis vs Haney in 2024. Tank entertained the idea by demanding two Ferraris delivered personally to his door to start negotiations. Talks have failed so far, with both sides wanting to be the A-side.

Davis’ PPV sales for his last fight were much more than Haney’s alleged 50,000 for the Regis Prograis fight. Davis also appears to want any fight at 135 pounds, which Haney has ruled out. But another Davis win will increase the calls for the fight to be made.
