Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia Start Promoting The ‘Greatest Fight’ Fans Will See
They are targeted to fight in April 2023.
The promotion has already begun.
A fight between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia has been among the biggest topics in the boxing world since earlier this summer when the two consistently mentioned each other on social media and in interviews. And last Thursday, the community was in a frenzy when news broke that a deal between the two lightweights was finalized.
Davis and Garcia confirmed the rumors themselves by posting promotional fight posters on their verified social media accounts.

Despite being basically a done deal, there still lie two obstacles in front of the top contenders: tune-up fights and Davis’ ongoing trial.
Davis confirmed that he will be returning to the ring on January 7 against a to-be-named opponent in Washington D.C. Then, if he’s victorious, he will face Garcia on a targeted April 15 date in Las Vegas.
Garcia said that he will likely also take a tune-up fight in January, also against a to-be-determined challenger.
Davis last fought in May where he knocked out Rolando Romero. Garcia is also coming off of a knockout win against Javier Fortuna in July.
Aside from boxing, Davis is due in a Baltimore courtroom on February 16 for a trial related to misdemeanor motor vehicle violations. The knockout star is accused of 14 traffic violations from a November 2020 hit-and-run incident.
