Gervonta Davis has spoken out for the first time since his arrest.
The ‘face of boxing’ was apprehended into custody after breaking the terms of his house arrest.
Davis had been ordered to serve 90 days under house arrest, which included three years worth of probation, after having pleaded guilty to a hit-and-run incident in 2020.
And as part of the terms, Davis was required to remain under house arrest at his trainer Calvin Ford’s house.
However, it soon transpired that Tank had been living at the Four Seasons hotel just before he purchased a $3.4 million home in Baltimore.
And since neither of those locations were given to the authorities, Davis was taken into custody under the orders of Judge Althea M. Handy.
That did not sit very well with Davis, as his recorded phone call from prison was posted on his Instagram account, which said the following.

“This judge is crazy. This judge is… they seen I bought a property. I did everything in my power to listen to my lawyers. I listened to everyone to a ‘T.’ She’s mad that I brought a property. That’s why I’m sitting in jail.
“She wanted me to be in an apartment… a one-(bedroom) apartment. I couldn’t take that. She wanted me to stay in a one-(bedroom) apartment where I couldn’t have my kids or nothing and things like that.
“I wanted to shed some light on this situation. She’s taking advantage of me and she’s doing stuff that’s not right to me. I just had to shed light on this situation,” Davis
This is the last thing that Davis needs, given his status as the ‘cash cow’ in the 135 lb division.
And with big money fights potentially on the horizon featuring Devin Haney, or Shakur Stevenson, Davis needs to get his career back on track.
After all, Davis has already expressed that he wants those two names amongst some others.
“I got some people I want to get. Devin Haney, Vasiliy Lomachenko, Teofimo Lopez. I don’t want to say the last one’s name. Shakur Stevenson,” Davis
With that being said, the boxing community are waiting for Davis’ return
