Gervonta Davis Targets Floyd Mayweather Showdown In His Mega PBC Deal

Gervonta Davis has named the fights he wants following his 6-7 fight deal with PBC, including a bout with Floyd Mayweather

Davis claims his new deal surpasses the $200 million contract Mayweather signed in 2013 with Showtime. Tank will defend his WBA Lightweight Title against Frank Martin on June 15. Davis has not boxed since stopping Ryan Garcia last year, so he is doing everything to promote his fight.

He outlined his targets: Haney, Garcia, Isaac Cruz, Shakur Stevenson, Teofimo Lopez and even Mayweather. A fight with Stevenson allows him to unify at 135 since Shakur has the WBC belt. Bouts with Lopez (WBO) and Haney (WBC) offer him title shots at 140. The rematches with Garcia and Cruz are lucrative. His fight with Garcia sold over 1.2 million PPVs. Meanwhile, the Cruz fight brought in the Mexican fanbase, which will increase now that Pitbull is the WBA champ at 140.

A fight with Mayweather could only happen in an exhibition. They have not seen eye to eye, with Davis claiming he was banned from training at the Mayweather Boxing Gym after he left Mayweather Promotions to fully align himself with Al Haymon. Davis then claimed Mayweather was stuck in Dubai, with debts to pay, although Mayweather’s team did not confirm that. The two exchanged verbals on social media, with Davis not ruling out a fight.

“Floyd Mayweather [may be the toughest fight]. I don’t even know [about the others]. I can’t even say until I get in there with them but all of them can get it,” Davis said
