Gervonta Davis Vs. Rolando Romero Tickets On Sale At Barclays Center
Tickets have gone on sale for Gervonta Davis’ title defense against Rolando Romero in May.
Davis is defending his WBA “regular” lightweight championship against Romer at the Barclays Center in New York on May 28, a fight that was originally scheduled for December.
Though the matchup was delayed – due to Romero being accused of sexual assault, but he was not charged – Davis said it’s going to still be a good fight.
“A lot of people don’t know that he can actually fight. A lot of people don’t know,” Tank Davis continued about Rolly,” Davis said.
“He’s just awkward, so people aren’t used to that. He can hit, and he’s going on pay-per-view, so he’s got to be someone that can fight a little bit.”
Davis fought late replacement Isaac Cruz on December 5, which he went on to win by unanimous decision – his first decision win in seven years.
Rolando could be facing his toughest challenge yet. He has gone undefeated in his 14 pro fights, winning 12 of those by knockout.
He last defeated Anthony Yigit by seventh-round TKO.
“I feel like it’s going to be a good fight as long as it lasts,” Davis added.
