Gervonta “Tank” Davis will fight anybody, it just has to totally make sense.
As Mayweather Promotions CEO Leonard Ellerbe said, his fighter Gervonta “Tank” Davis (25-0 24KO) can beat anybody near his weight category, and it’s all about picking the best option.
Leonard said that Tank is ready to fight with fighters like Vasily Lomachenko (15-2 11KO), Teofimo Lopez (16-0 12 KO), and Josh Taylor (18-0 13KO), it just has to make sense.
“Tank will fight anybody. It’s not about going down, he will campaign and fight the biggest fights possible, and there’s no name specific because in my opinion, his opinion, and Floyd’s opinion, he can beat each and every one of those guys out there. It’s just a matter of us making the fight.” – Leonard said –
“We’ll fight anybody (about Lomachenko). We’ll fight anybody, it just has to totally make sense.”
He also talked about a fight between Taylor and Jose Ramirez and said it was a tremendous fight.
“It was a tremendous fight. Again, I was picking Ramirez. I’m on the record for saying that. I thought Ramirez had enough, and he could do enough but again, all credit is due to Josh Taylor. He fought a tremendous fight, you got to give him credit.”
Gervonta “Tank” Davis is a 25-year-old American Pro Boxer, and he held multiple championships in three weight classes, including:
- The WBA (Regular) lightweight title since 2019;
- The WBA (Super) super featherweight title since 2020;
- The WBA (Regular) super lightweight title since June 2021;
- Previously the IBF super featherweight title in 2017
- The WBA (Super) super featherweight title from 2018 to 2019.
