GGG Paid 50x What Opponent Rolls Made For Fight

It seems Gennady Golovkin was not paid by the round, as the former unified middleweight champion of the world walked out of Madison Square Garden $15 million richer for four rounds work on Saturday night.

According to ESPN’s Dan Rafael, Golovkin made $2 million flat per the New York State Athletic Commission, but per his deal with DAZN on-top of other potential financial incentives in his contract, he made around $15 million for knocking out Steve Rolls in the fourth round in his first fight since a September 2018 loss to Canelo Alvarez.

Even if Golovkin made only $2 million for the fight, Rolls would make a paltry in comparison $300,000 for his first career loss.
