GGG Return Eyed For April
Gennadiy Golovkin’s first defense of his IBF middleweight championship will not take place on March 28th as previously reported but will remain in Chicago.
Per a report from ESPN’s Steve Kim, Golovkin’s return to the ring against mandatory challenger Kamil Szeremeta is now likely to take place sometime in April, while Vergil Ortiz will occupy the March 28th date Inglewood, California over the fight initially set for the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
With a fight for the vacant WBO cruiserweight title between Krzysztof Glowacki and Lawrence Okolie potentially on the card promoted by Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, the fight may stay in Chicago, a city with a massive and vocal Polish community.
