Gilbert Burns Wants Dana White To Make Bout Against Khamzat Chimaev Happen
Khamzat Chimaev is one of the fastest rising stars of the UFC.
Since joining the promotion, he proved that he is one of the toughest welterweight and middleweight division fighters. After earning two victories in 10 days, in his first-ever two fights of the UFC, he held another battle against the black belt of Jiu-Jitsu, Gerald Meerschaert, in 17 seconds via KO.
Now Gilbert Burns wants to take him on.
“Make it happen @danawhite I’m all in! 5 rounds in [Brazil]. Let’s grappled!” Burns tweeted.

Burns is 1-1 in his last two fights. In February of 2021, Kamaru Usman served Burns a KO/TKO loss. Burns bounced back in July with a unanimous decision victory against Stephen Thompson.
For Chimaev, his latest victory came against Jingliang Li, earning another first-round submission victory.
After earning such victories, it was hard to find an opponent for him. Top-ranked fighters don’t want to risk their position, and lower ranks don’t want to fight against such a fighter.
But, clearly, Burns is thinking otherwise.
