Gilberto Ramirez has eyes on Bivol’s WBA title after Barrera win
Gilberto Ramirez feels that WBA champion Dmitry Bivol will also sign on the dotted line to see him next inside the octagon. Zurdo is sky-high after knocking out Sullivan Barrera in the fourth round ten days ago. This was his 42 pro victory and first win under Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotion.
Ramirez is now eyeing a title fight, and Bivol’s strap is where his eyes are at. Before he beat Barrera, Bivol had wished him good luck and showed his willingness to fight if Zurdo could win. However, now that Ramirez is on a roll, Bivol has no option but to give him the title shot.
“Bivol is one of my main targets. Both our teams have explored the fight, and they know where to find me. After calling me out on the internet, I’ll be surprised if he retracts from his comments,” Zurdo had said after his recent win.
“It’s boxing, and you can never be too confident until contracts are signed. He called me out on social media, and his sideshows I’m available. If it doesn’t happen, I’m sure he would have a good reason why, but, at the end of the day, I’m 100-per cent for this fight, and his team is fully aware of it.”
