Gilberto Ramirez Wants Dmitry Bivol To Fight Him
It definitely feels like Gilberto Ramirez (44-0, 30 KOs) isn’t intimidated by what Dmitry Bivol (20-0, 11 KOs) will throw at him.
After securing one of the shocking wins of the year against Canelo Alvarez, Bivol established himself as one of the hottest properties in the boxing industry.
However, the Mexican wants the Russian to accept his challenge. Recently, the 30-year-old extended his unbeaten streak to 44 matches by dominating Dominic Boesel in four rounds.
After this win, Ramirez is in the mandatory position to challenge Bivol for a fight.
“I feel that this is my yard now. There is a reason some of the top guys have avoided me. They know that I am coming to hunt down all of their belts and it is just a matter of time. Bivol was also one of those who declined my proposal and fought someone else,” Ramirez said.
“Apart from Bivol, I have also asked Beterbiev and Smith Jr. to fight me, but they know that they cannot compete on my level. You may think that I am getting mouthy, but it is just a question of time when all of these things are proven right,” Ramirez explained.
If the Mexican beats Bivol, he will become a two-division world champion after securing the middleweight title six years ago.
