GLORY Kickboxing Postpones Antwerp, Miami Events
Not even the world of kickboxing is safe from the coronavirus threat. GLORY Kickboxing announced that it has cancelled two big events. GLORY: 76 in Antwerp on March 28 and GLORY 77 in Miami on May 30 will not be taking place.
New dates for the events will be announced whenever things calm down.
“The health and safety of our fans, athletes, staff and the wider public are of paramount importance,” said GLORY CEO Marshall Zelaznik.
“Fans in possession of tickets will have their seats reserved for the rescheduled event, but if they are unable to attend on the rescheduled date, they are being given the option to receive a refund or have the value of their ticket used as a credit toward a future GLORY event.”
This comes after the Belgium government prohibited events that can hold up to 1,000 people. President Trump stated last night that there will be a halt in travel to and from the United States for most countries in the European Union.
GLORY 76 inside Belgium’s AED Studios was supposed to feature Cedric Doumbe defending the GLORY Welterweight Championship against Suriname Murthel Groenhart. GLORY 77 was supposed to take place inside the James L Knight Center. As of now, GLORY 78 inside the Rotterdam Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands is still on.
According to the latest from CNN, the coronavirus has infected over 124,518 people, with 4,607 deaths confirmed.
