Golden Boy-DAZN Brings Archives & Live Fights

Early Wednesday morning, DAZN would ink a $365 million deal with Canelo Alvarez, signing the biggest deal for one athlete in the history of sports.

On top of the deal was a new partnership between the digital streaming platform and Alvarez’ promoters’ Golden Boy Promotions, where DAZN will stream up to 10 fight cards a year beginning in 2019.

My dream has been to make boxing a sport for all. DAZN has the perfect platform to make this dream come true, and with the biggest star in the sport at the helm of this journey, I have no doubts that we will succeed in unimaginable ways.”

De La Hoya joins fellow boxing promotion Matchroom Boxing and Bellator MMA, as the cornerstone brands on the platform.

The new deal will see not only live events, but the inclusion of Golden Boy’s extensive library, including all of De La Hoya’s fights throughout his career, on top of original content that will feature studio shows, as well as documentary programs like the Mano a Mano series.

The live events will see De La Hoya as the Executive Producer, as well as a direct partnership between DAZN and the Golden Boy Media and Entertainment brand, looking to focus on virtual graphics and social media interaction, in an attempt to modernize boxing broadcasting.
