Former UFC Heavyweight Gabriel Gonzaga made his return to MMA this past weekend, and his return may be short lived after a devastating Knockout loss to Alesksander Emelianenko.
The younger Emelianenko brother has been undefeated following a short term in prison for a sexual assault conviction in 2016. In his first fight outside of the Akhmat MMA promotion ran by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, Emelianenko would drop Gonzaga in round two of their fight at RCC 2 in Russia.
With the loss, Gonzaga drops to 17-12 with only one win in his last seven fights, including his last UFC appearance against Derrick Lewis in 2016. The loss prompted his two year sojourn away from the sport.
