Grand Jury Refuses To Indict Nick Diaz

In a Clark County Courtroom on Tuesday, a Grand Jury would refuse to indict UFC welterweight Nick Diaz for charges of domestic violence.

Even though the 12 jurors would agree to not indict the fighter, the Clark County District Attorney’s office will proceed with what they believe is a solid case against Diaz.

“They couldn’t convince 12 jurors, and now they’re basically disregarding what the jury said,” attorney Ross Goodman told Las Vegas Review-Journal. “We’re telling those grand jurors, ‘We don’t really care what you decide.’”

Diaz, who has not appeared at any of the hearings at any point of this case, was arrested on May 24th for allegedly injuring a female acquaintance.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 30th, which will determine if Diaz goes to trial or has his case dismissed.
