One UFC fighter suffered a gnarly ear injury.
On the UFC Vegas 13 card, Max Griffin went one-on-one with Ramiz Brahimaj. The bout was featured on the prelims. In the third round as Griffin had Brahimaj against the fence, something unusual (and disgusting) came to light. Brahimaj’s ear was flapping around.
The referee took notice of this and once the Octagon-side doctor was brought in, the fight was waved off. Griffin was awarded the third-round TKO finish.
After the fight, Brahimaj issued the following statement on his Instagram account.
“Hello everyone! I am fine! Tis but a flesh wound. On a serious note congratulations to my opponent fought a great fight and am truly happy to share the cage with him and best of luck to him. I will heal up, and get right back on track. From the soul I appreciate all the support I have gotten from all over!! Set backs are nothing new to me so they will only make me stronger. Much love y’all, see you soon.”
