Greg Hardy Replaces Vitor Belfort Against Hasim Rahman Jr.

Hardy had a successful boxing debut.

Hasim Rahman Jr. has a new opponent for his main event on a KSI-promoted Misfits Boxing show in Austin, Texas.

He will now face Greg Hardy.

Hardy, the former NFL defensive end and UFC combatant has also turned to boxing and has already notched up a knockout victory over Michael Cook just a month back.

According to several media sources, Shannon Briggs was also an option. The former heavyweight champ hasn’t fought since 2016 but has been willing to go blow by blow whenever given the chance.

Rahman Jr., the son of former heavyweight champ Hasim Rahman Sr, was due to face Vitor Belfort but it is reported that the Brazilian contracted the COVID infection, which resulted in him being ruled out for the fight.

Previously, Rahman Jr. had a bout cancelled with Jake Paul at the last hour. Rahman was unable to make weight and was reprimanded for this shortcoming as the organizers did not allow him to participate in the event.

But it won’t be the same this time around as he has got a late replacement foe to face him on Saturday night.

Rahman Jr. took to Twitter and briefed fans about the situation, “Prayers up for @VitorBelfort, get well soon champ.

“Inshallah I’ll take care of business Saturday and we can make it happen”.

He then followed up by adding: “Y’all gonna LOVE this new opponent.”
