Greg Hardy Secures Stunning Decision Victory Over Hasim Rahman Jr.

Hardy was a last-minute replacement.

Former UFC fighter Greg Hardy made a last-minute decision to face Hasim Rahman Jr. It looks like his decision paid off, and he secured a stunning decision victory over the fellow American.

The son of former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman was set to take on MMA legend Vitor Belfort in a boxing match in Austin, Texas. However, the Brazilian pulled out of the fight after testing positive for COVID-19.

Hardy was declared the last-minute replacement for Belfort, and he pounced on the opportunity.

One of the biggest reasons behind this upset is the weight difference. Hardy weighed 94 pounds more than Rahman Jr.

The 31-year-old came out of the blocks and dominated the earlier rounds, which was expected considering his boxing experience. However, things changed dramatically in the second stanza as Hardy dropped Rahman with a right hand.

Both men looked physically exhausted at the end of the fourth round, and the fight went the distance. At the end of the fight, the three judges gave a combined score of 39-36 in favor of the 34-year-old.

This was just the second professional boxing match of Hardy’s career. He made his pro boxing debut back in October, where he beat Mike Cook in the second round.

On the other hand, Rahman drops to a record of 12-2.

He enjoyed a remarkable start to his pro boxing career by winning 12 consecutive matches but now has had two setbacks in a row. The first defeat of his career came in April when he lost to Kenzie Morrison in the fifth round.
