Grudge Fight: Patricky Freire-Peter Queally Headlines Bellator Dublin

The Bellator European Series is back! Looking to gain momentum overseas, Bellator has announced a lightweight bout featuring some of the top fighters within the division. Patricky Pitbull will face off against Peter Queally.

The fight will be the main event of Bellator Dublin on October 3 inside The 3Arena. Bellator made the announcement during its All-Star press conference in New York City.

Patricky (23-9) has been with Bellator since 2011, amassing a 14-7 record with the organization. He has competed in multiple tournaments in MMA, including three lightweight ones. “Pitbull” is finishing off a run in Rizin with the promotions Lightweight Grand Prix. He beat both Tatsuya Kawajiri and Luiz Gustavo via KO before losing to Tofiq Musayev in the finals at Rizin 20. In his second fight of the night, Patricky lost via unanimous decision.

In his third fight for Bellator, Queally (12-5) is looking to go on a two-fight win streak. “The Showstopper” beat Ryan Scope via TKO back in September at Bellator 227. He was set to face Brent Primus at Bellator 240 in Dublin, but had to back out due to an injury. Tearing his LCL, Queally was sidelined and Chris Bungard took his spot.

This is a turf war of sorts. Patricky and his brother, Bellator Lightweight and Featherweight World Champion Patricio Freire, have been demanding fights from members of SBG Ireland, the gym Queally is a member of. The threats are finally going to come to an end and the action will begin in October.
