Guillermo Rigondeaux Ready To Go All In Against Vincent Astrolabio
Guillermo Rigondeaux, a former world champion in two weight classes, is not willing to leave any stone unturned for his next fight.
The Cuban star is scheduled to take on Vincent “Acero” Astrolabio (16-3, 12 KO) on February 26 in Dubai, as part of a series of boxing cards in the UAE.
“We know that this is a fighter from the Philippines and we are going to be ready,” Rigondeaux said in a recent interview.
“We are already in full preparation to reach that commitment in the best possible way. Whoever it is, we are going to return with victory and with hope of what may come in the future.”
Despite being 41, Rigondeaux is the favorite to win the contest against his 24-year-old opponent. The Cuban professional is known for his tremendous experience and plenty of defensive skills.
In 2013, he raised his stocks with the biggest win of his career when he beat Nonito Donaire. However, he doesn’t want to look back on what has happened.
“All that is history and now we look ahead,” Rigondeaux continued.
“Anyone who steps into the ring with me knows that things are not going to be easy. With me you have to have all your senses alert, because the Jackal can spring a surprise at any moment.”
