Gunnar Nelson Out of UFC Liverpool

An injury has reportedly forced Gunnar Nelson to be removed from next month’s UFC Fight Night event in Liverpool, England.

As reported by Bloody Elbow, Nelson was scheduled to face Neil Magny in the co-main event of the evening. But Magny has reportedly suffered a knee injury that will require the Icelandic fighter to undergo surgery.

Magny now needs a new opponent for the event. The welterweight contender defeated Carlos Condit in his last outing back in December, and he has won five of his last seven fights.

UFC Liverpool, which takes place on May 27, will be headlined by former UFC Welterweight Title challenger Stephen Thompson and Liverpool’s own Darren Till.
