Gustafsson Wants Romero At Light Heavyweight
After missing weight for two straight title fights at middleweight, Yoel Romero is considering a move back to light heavyweight, and already has someone looking to fight him if he makes weight.
At the post-fight press conference for UFC 225, UFC President Dana White said he wants to see Romero return to light heavyweight following missing weight against Robert Whittaker, and make the move back to light heavyweight. White particularly wanted to see Romero in a fight against Alexander Gustafsson, with the winner facing light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier.
“I think he should move up to 205 pounds and fight the No. 1 contender to see who fights for the title,” White said following UFC 225 in Chicago.
Gustafsson would take to Twitter on Thursday and open the door for a fight with Romero.

Romero was a career light heavyweight until his first career loss as a member of the Strikeforce roster in 2011. He would shift to middleweight soon after, and go undefeated for four years until a unanimous decision loss to Whittaker in 2017 at UFC 213.
