Hakuho Suffers Injury During Spring Basho

Hakuho will not be able to celebrate his record-extending 42nd division championship win, as the yokozuna suffered an apparent arm injury.

Hakuho would be able to stop fellow yokozuna, Kakuryu, on Sunday to secure the Emperor’s cup, but would explain to reporters on Monday that he may have suffered a muscle tear.

“At any rate, I want to stay away from sumo and rest,” Hakuho said of what he plans to do next.
