Hall (8-1) is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Darren Elkins back in July. 4-0 in the UFC, Hall has only managed to fight once in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. Ranked thirteenth in the UFC’s featherweight rankings, Hall is notoriously known for not being able to find a challenger.
“I’m not entirely sure,” Hall stated on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show when asked why nobody has stepped up, via Heavy. “I guess it’s been a little bit of a struggle to find an opponent. I’ve been directly turned down or been told they are unavailable from 12 all the way down to six.
“It seems like there is a bit of a log jam that’s difficult to deal with. And I can’t say that I’m being frozen out, but maybe effectively frozen out.”
The 35-year-old will be facing Ricardo Lamas (19-8), who is coming off of a knockout-loss against Calvin Kattar back at UFC 238 in June. “The Bully” is 1-3 in his last four fights. While not in the top fifteen, Lamas, who has six wins via knockout and five via submission, is a challenge for Hall.
UFC Oklahoma City takes place inside the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Jack Hermansson v. Chris Weidman is the main event. This will be Weidman’s return to middleweight after a cup of coffee at light heavyweight.
