Haney Cruises to KO Win over Moran
Devin Haney has made his claim as to why he should be considered perhaps the best up-and-coming lightweight contender, as he scored a knockout win over Devin Haney in the main event of a May 25 DAZN card from the MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland.

Haney started off well, showing off great speed and landing a couple of combinations, including one that caused Moran to stumble forward. Moran started to land better in the second round, but Haney’s striking remained crisp.
Moran looked to get on the inside over the next couple of rounds, and while he had some small successes, Haney managed to keep his distance and was smart in landing counterpunches. A hook from Haney also managed to give Moran a small cut.
Moran was knocked down by a right hook midway through the fifth round, but Haney’s left foot tripped him. The referee did rule it a knockdown, however, and Haney rocked Moran again before the bell.
Haney finally finished things in the seventh, scoring a massive overhand right that didn’t need a count to be ruled a knockout.
