Haney Fires Shot At Garcia For Hanging Out With Mayweather – ‘Floyd Can’t Save You’

Devin Haney has reacted to Floyd Mayweather and Ryan Garcia hanging out at a shopping mall.

The sighting has increased speculation that Ryan could sign with PBC. He is contracted to Golden Boy Promotions, but his deal reportedly ends within a year. The boxer expressed his dissatisfaction with Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins in the press conference for his fight with Oscar Duarte. Garcia silenced his critics by stopping Duarte, after which he called out Haney.

Haney was equally impressive when he stopped Regis Prograis to become the WBC junior welterweight and two-weight world champion. Haney confirmed Garcia’s team had been in touch to make a fight. They both fought on DAZN, increasing the chances of the fight happening. But Garcia’s meeting with Mayweather was dismissive of Haney. Mayweather outlined the three biggest names in the sport, which did not include Haney.

“I mean [there are] some heavy hitters in the game right now…in boxing it’s only three…Canelo, Ryan, and Gervonta Tank Davis. In today’s time, fighters think they [have] belts, and they made a few million dollars, they are stars. That [doesn’t] make you a star. Being an allrounder all around the board makes you a star. Learn how to articulate. Know when to speak and when not to speak…everything plays a major role in making you a household name,” Mayweather said

Canelo is a four-division champion who is the current undisputed super middleweight king. Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia’s fight sold over 1.2 million PPVs, the highest-grossing event of 2023. With the Haney-Prograis fight allegedly doing 50,000 PPV buys, Haney’s commercial power was much less. ‘The Dream’ responded to Garcia by shutting down his interaction with Mayweather.
