Haney Slams Garcia For Missing Weight, Wants A ‘Fair’ Rematch

Devin Haney has criticized Ryan Garcia for missing weight, demanding a ‘fair’ rematch.

Garcia dropped Haney three times on his way to a majority decision win. However, the win was questioned after Garcia came 3.2 pounds over the junior welterweight limit. Team Haney accepted the $1.5 million fine from Garcia rather than making him weigh in the day after.

Garcia said he planned on missing weight since he did not want to be drained. Ryan’s father, Henry Garcia, qualified those comments, stating Haney was 15 pounds heavier than his son on fight night. Haney has now asked to run things back.

Haney ultimately agreed to the terms, leaving no room for excuses. Regis Prograis also accused Haney of receiving ‘karma’ after The Dream rehydrated to 165 pounds for their fight. Prograis also claimed Haney imposed a rehydration clause on him. While Haney is requesting a rematch, Garcia is focused on fights with either Gervonta Davis, Isaac Cruz or Sebastian Fundora.
