Haney vs. Santiago Booked for November 9

Devin Haney recently acquired the WBC lightweight championship outside the ring, and now he’ll be making his first defense of the title in mere days.

A deal has been finalized that will see Haney defend the championship against Alfredo Santiago on November 9 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The fight will be conducted as part of the undercard for KSI vs. Logan Paul II.

Haney captured the interim WBC lightweight title with a win over Zaur Abdullaev in September, and he was elevated to full-time champ on Oct. 24, upon the WBC naming Vasyl Lomachenko as “Franchise champion.”

At just 20 years old, Haney is already 23-0 with 15 finishes.

Alfredo Santiago, who is 12-0 with four knockouts to his credit, last competed on June 1, defeating Diego Contreras.

The undercard of KSI vs. Logan Paul II will also see Billy Joe Saunders defend the WBO super middleweight championship against Marcelo Esteban Coceres.
