Haney Will Move Up To Fight Prograis, A Fight With Lopez Could Follow Too
Bill Haney has confirmed that Devin Haney will be moving up to face Regis Prograis at 140 pounds.
According to ESPN, if Haney were to beat Prograis, then a unification fight with Teofimo Lopez would follow, as the ‘Takeover’ has the WBO belt.
The news would rule out a fight against Shakur Stevenson, who is the current WBC mandatory for Haney at 135.

The move should not come as a surprise since Haney has nothing else to prove at lightweight having become undisputed.
Not only that, but Haney has made it known that it has not been the easiest thing to make 135 lbs.
Although that may be the case, Shakur Stevenson has had a few words to say about the links with fighting Haney as he questioned if there were ever any real intentions in the first place.
“I don’t think they want to fight me. They have no real interest in fighting me right now. They know how dangerous I am. Being that he’s having a hard time making weight [for 135], I don’t think he really wants to get in the ring.
“We’re working behind the scenes right now. There’s a lot of work being done by my team by my management, and we’re doing our best to try and make the fight happen,” Stevenson
