Hannah Rankin On Making History, Potentially Facing Cris Cyborg

A trailblazer in women’s boxing, Hannah Rankin made history when she became Scotland’s first female boxing world champion.

Rankin (9-4) became a professional boxer in 2017. Not only is she a boxer, but an accomplished basoonist. The 29-year-old teaches during this time of quarantine. She also thinks about reclaiming the IBO Super-Welterweight Championship. Rankin is ready to do whatever it takes to face Patricia Berghult once again.

Currently signed by Salita Promotions with Mark Taffet, Rankin is proud to be a part of an organization that cares for women in boxing. Her accomplishments, like facing Alicia Napoleon in one of the best female boxing fights fans never got to see on live TV, facing Claressa Shields on a main stage and winning the IBO Title are just a few examples of her growth in the sport.

Hear what she had to say about winning a world title in this FIGHT SPORTS exclusive. Rankin also discusses what she has been doing during quarantine, women’s boxing in general and potentially facing Bellator’s Cris Cyborg.
