Hari Gives Verhoeven No Chance of Winning
Let it be known now: Badr Hari does not have any worry over GLORY heavyweight champion Rico Verhoeven.
Hari, the former K-1 champion considered the biggest bad boy in the world of kickboxing, meets Verhoeven, considered one of the most popular figures and perhaps the face of GLORY kickboxing, in the main event of GLORY: Collision on Saturday night.
Hari recently sat down for an interview with GLORY interviewer Todd Grisham. Hari expressed complete confidence in himself concerning the upcoming bout, stating that Verhoeven has a zero percent chance of beating him on Saturday. In fact, he even has a complete prediction — he says he will knock Verhoeven out in the first round.
"I’m not nervous for the fight," he said. "I’m not nervous for the result, you know? I know I’m gonna knock him out. I’m sharp, I’m focused. But nervous? No."
Grisham also brought up the question of why Hari fights, and Hari said he fights for the money and to put food on his family’s dinner table.
"I was always a family man," Hari said. "My family comes first. That’s one of the reasons I’m so into fighting, you know? And like I said, I fight for the money.
"I have responsibilities. When I step in the ring, I’m feeding my children. So…it’s no game."
