Harrison Talks “Trade” With Masvidal
American Top Team members Kayla Harrison and Jorge Masvidal not only had easy and important nights at the office in the past week, but an interesting deal to help them improve.
Harrison, who submitted Morgan Frier in under 90 seconds on Thursday night in Atlantic City, spoke highly of Masvidal’s five second knockout of Ben Askren five days earlier at UFC 239.
“Oh my god! He is insane,” Kayla Harrison told reporters of Jorge Masvidal following the PFL 4 card.
“He’s literally nuts. Masvidal and I… so he has really nice hair. In Florida, my hair gets really frizzy. I have naturally curly hair, but it gets really frizzy. So, he was like, ‘Askren does a lot of clinching so maybe you can show me some judo throws.’ I was like, ‘I’ll show you some judo throws if you give me some hair products.’”
The barter would make American Top Team turn into a swap meet or version of the Oregon Trail, as Harrison, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in Judo would teach Masvidal in exchange for a discount on hair care products.
“He was FaceTiming with Mike (Brown) the other day,” Harrison said of Masvidal, who earned an estra $50 grand for the knockout.
“I was like, ‘Listen, I know you said you were going to give me a discount, but now I want it for free because I know you’re rolling in the dough after that knockout.’”
