Has PBC’s Jamal James Vs. Thomas Dulorme Been Rescheduled?
Premier Boxing Champions will be hoping that the third time will be the charm when it comes to a huge welterweight clash.
Mike Coppinger of The Athletic is reporting that Jamal James v. Thomas Dulorme, originally set for July 25, will now be moved to August 11. It will be a “Fight Night” product on FOX programming. The two could still end up facing off in Los Angeles after Minnesota was an original option for the fight.
The 30-year-old Dulorme (25-3-1) is coming off of a unanimous decision win over Terrel Williams back in September. He is 1-1-1 in his last three fights, having drawn with Jessie Vargas for the WBC Silver Welterweight Title before the Williams bout.
James (26-1) is on a six-fight win streak dating back to 2017. After losing to Yordenis Ugas back in 2016, “Shango” mas managed to win four of his last six fights inside the Minneapolis Armory. The Minneapolis native’s last bout was a unanimous decision win over Antonio DeMarco in July.
Both fighters were supposed to fight on April 11, but the bout was postponed due to the coronavirus. This time, the return of baseball has affected boxing’s schedule. Major League Baseball will have a FOX broadcast on July 25.
The winner of this bout would earn the interim WBA Welterweight Championship and will have a chance to face Manny Pacquiao, who is champion under the “Super” status.
