Hatton Believes Fury-Bellew Is Happening

Even with a rivalry between their promoters, Ricky Hatton believes a Tyson Fury and Tony Bellew fight is in the cards.

Fury, who returned to the ring in June after a nearly three year sojourn from boxing, would stop Sefer Seferi in under four rounds.

Since then he and Bellew have been calling each other out, Bellew more aggressively than Fury, and Hatton feels this fight is getting closer to a reality.

“That’s what I keep getting told in little boxing circles,” Hatton told the Daily Star. “How true it is I don’t know.”

One issue standing in the way is Bellew’s promoter Eddie Hearn, and Fury’s promoter Frnak Warren’s rivalry. Hatton told the Star that both men need to come together on this.

“If it is going to happen Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn need to come together, Hatton said.”  “That could the toughest part.

“No disrespect to Warren or Hearn, but sometimes with different TV stations and promoters everyone wants their edge.

“I think it’s one that could be done if it’s 50/50. But nine times out of ten boxing promoters don’t think that way!”
