Hearn Makes Gervonta Davis An Offer To Fight Conor Benn

Eddie Hearn has made an offer to Gervonta Davis for the Conor Benn fight.

A fight has been mentioned following the two boxers’ social media outburst. Davis was not impressed with Benn’s win over Peter Dobson, saying he needed three weeks to stop him. The Brit’s boxing career has suffered since his two failed VADA tests for Clomiphene. The BBBofC and UKAD have appealed the National Anti-Doping Agency’s decision to remove his suspension, meaning Benn cannot box in the UK until the appeal clears him. That has paved the way for a Davis-Benn fight in the US, with Hearn making an offer.

“I’ve spoken to Gervonta personally and he’ll be receiving an offer from us today for that fight as well. I think it’s a huge fight, could happen in the UK but we’re looking,I think, in America for that. You know, you got two fiery characters, Gervonta is an outstanding fighter, super featherweight really.

“Coming up to lightweight and boxing at 140 [pounds] but never boxed at 147 [pounds]. And it’s really tough fight for Conor Benn. I mean, Gervonta is a pound-for-pound great,” Hearn said

Benn has been linked with an Adrien Broner fight if the Davis bout fails. Matchroom Boxing’s Frank Smith identified Broner as an alternative. The American is no longer the same fighter that made him a four-division champion, but he can sell a fight. Broner’s career has stalled since his absence from the ring with mental health and alcohol problems. But at 34, Broner is looking to get those big fights at the tail end of his career.

“Adrien Broner does a lot of calling out. I think that’s the least realistic one, but look, everyone is calling out Conor Benn,” stated
