Hearn Wants GGG, Canelo, Manny For DAZN
Following the end of HBO’s Boxing programming, there are a few notable names looking for a new home, and Eddie Hearn is waiting with open arms.
The first step for Eddie Hearn, who inked a billion dollar deal with DAZN earlier this year, was signing a December title clash between Rocky Fielding and Canelo Alvarez, and while there is no guarantee that the fight will air on DAZN, the potential is high for Canelo to fight on the digital platform.
Now, Hearn is focused on adding Gennady Golovkin and Manny Pacquiao to his ever growing stable.
In an interview with Boxing Scene, Hearn claimed that, “I know Tom Loeffler very well, we’ve done fights together. I’ve told him about our interest and our desire to get Gennady Golovkin on our platform”
“We’ve had chats with Manny Pacquiao,” stated Hearn, who may also look at Showtime due to a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather by the end of 2018 or early 2019.
“I don’t think we’re going to get all three,” admitted Hearn. “But I’m confident we’ll get one of the three. Like I said, we’ve got extremely deep pockets, but it doesn’t mean we just go in and waste money, over-pay, because it could affect our business.
“So, we’ve got to be smart, got to be clever but also we know that to add one of these names would have a significant impact on subscriber numbers for DAZN.”
