Hearn Worried For Joshua Against Povetkin

Eddie Hearn is rarely worried, but as Anthony Joshua steps into the ring against Alexander Povetkin, the Matchroom Boxing boss is not as certain as he usually is.

“I’m quite worried about this fight,” Hearn told talkSPORT yesterday.

“Everybody is looking into the future and a potential Wilder fight next year.

“But, on paper, outside of Klitschko and even close to Klitschko, this is the toughest fight of AJ’s career.

“Povetkin is very well schooled,” Hearn said of the fighter who’s only career loss is to Wladimir Klitschko “He’s technically very sound, he’s an accurate puncher and he has way more experience than Anthony Joshua.”

Even though its sold well, the event is not a complete sell out, which Hearn attributes to people saving money on a showdown with Deontay Wilder in April.
