Heavyweight Frank Sanchez Feels Mandatory Title Shot Coming Soon

Frank Sanchez remains undefeated.

And with keeping his record intact, he said that he feels a big step forward is coming for him soon.

“I’m a highly-rated fighter, so I feel like a mandatory shot for the world title is coming,” said Sanchez.

“I’m just looking forward to fighting the best that the division has to offer. Hopefully the fans will get to see me in those big fights next year.”

Sanchez (21-0, 14 KOs) set the tempo of the fight, only to up the effectiveness in the second half. He began to beat up his opponent, Carlos Negron (25-4, 20 KOs), more badly and even caused swelling and bleeding.

The damage was so bad it forced doctors to check on Negron before the ninth round.

“We knew that Negron was going to be tough and he definitely gave it his all,” said Sanchez.

“He was tough for nine rounds, but the knockout was inevitable. I have nothing but respect for Negrón, he fought a good fight. I just did what I had to do.”

Sanchez would unleash a combination that sent Negron to the mat. He was able to get up, but met again with a flurry of punches. The referee called off the fight at 1:36 of the round.
