Heavyweight Tanner Boser Will Face Sergei Pavlovich In UFC Fight Night On December 4

Tanner Boser is set to return in the octagon at the close of this year after securing the biggest victory of his career where he knocked out Ovince Saint Preux.

Boser (20-8-1) will meet Sergei Pavlovich (14-1) in Las Vegas, Nevada at the December 4 UFC Fight Night event. The news was initially reported by TSN, but later Pavlovich took to social media and confirmed the news.

Boser had a good start to his UFC career winning three out of his first four fights in the organization. But he lost his way after dropping two consecutive decisions to former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski and Ilir Latifi.

Now he seems to be back on track after scoring an emphatic second-round knockout over OSP at UFC Fight Night 190 in June.

Pavlovich will make the walk to the octagon for the first time in almost two years.

The Russian last made the appearance in October 2019 where he knocked out Maurice Greene in the very first round of the fight. He was then destined to meet Ciryl Gane in August 2020, but the fight was called off due to injury to the Russian powerhouse.

UFC then worked a fight between Pavlovich and Tom Aspinall, but the Russian again had to withdraw from it, this time due to the visa issues.

Here’s the expected fight card for December 4:

  • Rob Font vs. Jose Aldo
  • Chris Gruetzemacher vs. Claudio Puelles
  • Rafael Fiziev vs. Brad Riddell
  • Montserrat Conejo vs. Mallory Martin
  • Brendan Allen vs. Brad Tavares
  • Bryan Barberena vs. Matt Brown
  • Tanner Boser vs. Sergei Pavlovich
  • Jimmy Crute vs. Jamahal Hil
  • Manel Kape vs. Zhalgas Zhumagulov
