Heavyweight Travis Browne Released From UFC Contract

Travis Browne has not appeared in the UFC octagon since 2017, and he has now officially been relieved of the terms of his contract.

Browne had a strong start to his time within the promotion’s 265-pound weight class, accumulating a record of 7-1-1 between 2010 and 2013. But, things took an unfortunate turn, as he only secured two victories in his last 8 showings.

Despite having not fought in a number of years, Browne was still under contract with the UFC. That is, until earlier this week.

While it does not appear that Browne has any intention to return to combat sports, he now does have the option to seek competition outside the leading organization if he chooses to do so.
