Henderson-Awad Added To Bellator 208

Benson Henderson looks to build a winning streak as he returns to the Bellator cage at Bellator 208 on October 13th.

Henderson, who defeated Roger Huerta in April, faces off with Saad Awad at the Nassau Coliseum on October 208, which will join a card featuring Fedor Emelianenko and Chael Sonnen’s main event semi-final of the Heavyweight Grand Prix.

Henderson, a former UFC lightweight champion has hada shaky run in Bellator, after title fight losses to Michael Chandler and Patricky “Pitbull” Freire.

Awad earned his fourth straight win in the Bellator cage when he stopped Ryan Couture at Bellator 201, and faces the biggest challenge of his pro career in Henderson.

“As long as I’m winning, you can’t deny it,” said Awad of earning a potential Bellator lightweight title shot.

“You look at Tony Ferguson in the UFC. He had a nine-fight winning streak before he got that title fight. Khabib (Nurmagomedov) had the same. I’m barely on a three-fight winning streak. If this is one of the guys I have to fight just to build that winning streak, (expletive) it, I’m going to take it.”
