Henry Cejudo Predicts Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno
Former UFC “champ-champ” Henry Cejudo has made a prediction for Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno.
Figueiredo and Moreno are having a quick turnaround. The two competed in separate bouts on November 21 at UFC 255. The two will headline UFC 256 on December 12. Figueiredo will put his UFC Flyweight Championship on the line.
Speaking to The Schmo, Cejudo discussed the Figueiredo vs. Moreno fight and who he believes will emerge victorious (h/t MMAFighting.com).
“I’m still a fan of the sport. I enjoy watching these guys but I think more than anything, I’m actually a critic. Every time I watch the fights I just look at things the fighters are doing wrong and when I see that, even with Deiveson, this is why I think he’s gonna have a hard time and may potentially even lose to Brandon Moreno. All you have to do with a guy like Deiveson Figueiredo is make him grapple for that first round because he’s cutting a lot of weight. By the time that second, third round hits he’s gonna start having that heavy muscle. So I’m actually gonna pick Brandon Moreno – which, he sucks too – but I’m gonna pick him to beat Deiveson Figueiredo.”
Figueiredo is riding a five-fight winning streak. This will be his second UFC Flyweight Title defense. As for Moreno, he has gone 4-0-1 in his last five outings.
The initial plan for UFC 256 was to feature a welterweight title clash between champion Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns. Once that bout couldn’t materialize on the date, the UFC turned to Amanda Nunes vs. Megan Anderson and Petr Yan vs. Aljamain Sterling. Both bouts fell apart, so now UFC 256’s main event will be Figueiredo vs. Moreno.
