Here’s What You Should Know About UFC 273

The UFC is returning to Jacksonville, Florida.

This time, the headlining of the event will be a featherweight clash between Alexander Volkanovski (23-1-0) and “Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung (17-6-0).

Volkanovski will defend his belt for the third time against an experienced fighter.

Korean Zombie missed his prime because of military service and was not fighting from 2012 to 2017. He was one of the best grapplers in the UFC, who managed and earned the first-ever twister submission victory inside the octagon.

He also defeated Dustin Poirier via submission Brabo Choke in the fourth round back in 2012. He came back in 2017 and earned a massive KO victory against Dennis Bermudez. After that, he suffered a loss against Yair Rodriguez just a second before the final bell.

He defeated Renato Carneiro and Frankie Edgar via first-round knockouts but suffered defeat against Brian Ortega. In his latest fight, he dominated against Dan Ige.

Because of his latest KO victories, many think he is the striker, but he is universal with massive grappling skills. However, his grappling skills were shown before 2013 (before his military service).

In the co-main event, Petr Yan will try to finish what he could not finish at UFC 259. Still, Aljamain Sterling knows what he is supposed to expect from his rival.

Khamzat Chimaev will try to pass his biggest test. He will face former title challenger Gilbert Burns, who has amazing Jiu-Jitsu skills.

Chimaev will have a massive reach advantage.

One of the best female grapplers, Mackenzie Dern, is back in action against Tecia Torres.

Torres has never been finished before. On the other hand, Dern has seven submission victories and four of them in the UFC.

Irish rising star Ian Garry (8-0-0) is back in action and will face against Darian Weeks (5-1-0).

Top contenders Jairzinho Rozenstruik (12-3-0) and Marcin Tybura (22-7-0) will share the octagon. The two finishers will try to earn victory for their career to remain in the round to title fight.

One of the best wrestlers, Mark Madsen (11-0-0), is back after defeating legendary Clay Guida and will take on Vinc Pichel (14-2-0) in the preliminary cards.

Madsen has one of the best wrestling skills and proved that he got striking abilities when he fought with Guida.

Experienced fighters, Aleksei Oleinik (59-16-1) and Jared Vanderaa ( 12-7-0) will also share the octagon.
