UFC president Dana White is a betting man and he couldn’t shy away from placing a hefty bet on Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night.
He was so intrigued to see who will win the Canelo vs Plant showdown that he purchased a PPV for the event and watched it live on the screen while sitting in the front seat at Madison Square Garden and a star-studded UFC 268 underway.

In the post-event press conference, White revealed that he had bet $100,000 on Canelo to win by KO. He went home with $41,666 as Canelo became the unified champion by stopping Plant in the 11th round of the super fight.
The UFC president also warned Kamaru Usman for the welterweight champion’s plans of taking on Canelo in a boxing fight. He said that Canelo is too good for anyone to share the ring against him.
“When have we ever seen the pound for pound best in both combat sports fight in their prime?” Questioned Usman during an interview with Max Kellerman. “We’ve never seen that. Wouldn’t the world love to see that? I know I would.”
“I watched the Canelo fight,” said White following Usman’s win. “You don’t want to fight Canelo. You don’t want to fight Canelo. Come on, come on man. Let’s stop this shit.”
Usman defended his title for the fifth time the same night.
He beat Colby Covington in the rematch via a unanimous decision to continue his title reign.
Earlier, he had hinted at fighting Canelo. He said that the thought of squaring up against the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer makes him push himself to the limit.
