Higo To Now Face Mazzotta At Bellator 241

Not only does Leandro Higo have a new opponent for Bellator 241, but he will also be competing in a new division. According to MMA Fighting, Higo will face off against Dominic Mazzotta in a 145-pound fight.

The change was needed when Johnny Campbell, Higo’s original opponent, had to be taken out of the bout due to an injury.

Higo (19-5) last fought in September, beating Shawn Bunch via submission. It ended a two-fight skid against Darrion Caldwell and Aaron Pico. The former bout was for the Bellator Bantamweight Championship.

Mazzotta (14-3) is coming off of a unanimous decision loss to Shawn Bunch at Bellator 219 in March. “The Honey Badger” is 2-2 in his Bellator career following a five-fight win streak with Pinnacle Fighting Championships.

Bellator 241 takes place inside the Mohegan Sun Arena on March 13. The main event is a quarter-final bout of the Featherweight Grand Prix. Patricio Freire, Higo’s teammate, will put his Featherweight Title on the line against Pedro Carvalho. The co-main event will be another Featherweight Grand Prix quarter-final bout in Daniel Weichel v. Emmanuel Sanchez.
