Holloway Comments On UFC 226 Pullout
A few days after Max Holloway was removed from UFC 226, the featherweight champion has spoken out.
Holloway was forced out of his scheduled title defense against Brian Ortega on Wednesday night, after he was showing concussion-like symptoms. Holloway would be admitted to a hospital twice over the past week, and many would show concern about his physical states following interviews.
It is unknown what happened exactly with Holloway, but UFC President Dana White commented Thursday that the organization will do everything it can to help the featherweight champion in the interim.
Holloway would take to Twitter and discuss his feelings on the situation.
It was what it was. Respect to Ortega and his team. Thank you @danawhite and the @UFC staff for making my health priority. Also thank you to @lilheathenmma and @frankieedgar for being about that champ life and stepping up. I see you. To all the fans I know this rollercoaster can pic.twitter.com/I094Gv74CK

be frustrating because my team is also on it with you. All I can say is I’m truly sorry and I hope you guys stay buckled in because it is far from being over. Don’t let the bad surprises distract you from the good surprises in this great sport. The best is still blessed.

This would be the third time this year that medical issues would pull Holloway from a fight, following being pulled from UFC 223 against Khabib Nurmagomedov due to the New York State Athletic commission, and an ankle injury at UFC 222.
