Holloway-Ferguson Rumored For UFC 236
It seems Max Holloway will get his shot at the lightweight title after all.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, the current UFC featherweight champion shared a screen shot of a Wikipedia page for UFC 236 set for April featuring Holloway and top lightweight challenger Tony Ferguson.

Holloway’s jab at Ferguson’s similar back tattoo aside, both men were slated last April to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 223.
Ferguson was Nurmagomedov’s initial opponent, holding the interim lightweight title heading into the Pay-Per-View. Ferguson would lose not only the interim title, but his shot at Nurmagomedov the week before fight night, when he suffered a torn LCL in his knee while leaving a media obligation.
Holloway would come in last minute to replace Ferguson, but would be pulled by the New York State Athletic Commission due to issues with his weight cut.
Now, with Nurmagomedov out of action until November as a result of his suspension for the brawl at UFC 229 with Conor McGregor, Ferguson and Holloway could be slated to fight for the interim title and set up a unification fight with Nurmagomedov upon his return.
