Ahead of his BMF title defense at UFC 326 on Saturday, Max Holloway has signaled that he is looking to beat Charles Oliveira at his own game by submitting him.
Holloway, though a striker by trade, holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and famously submitted Cub Swanson earlier in his career. While Holloway is known for his striking, he recently teased a desire to secure a submission victory over the UFC’s all-time leader in finishes. Oliveira has 17 submissions in UFC history, but was submitted previously. Oliveira has been submitted four times in his 48-fight career. His most recent submission loss came at the hands of Islam Makhachev via an arm-triangle choke in October 2022. However, Holloway hopes to repeat the trick.Â
